Buried Treasure

Everything has layers,

Like an onion or a tree.

These poems, for example,

Are for parents and kiddies.

Children like the rhymes

And the stories and the names.

Parents like the humor

And the messages ingrained.

Sometimes, in life, you have

To look deeper than the skin.

The treasures on the surface

Are not like the ones within.
